Understanding & Managing Microaggressions

Employees, especially corporate leaders and managers, play an important role in creating and maintaining an inclusive workplace culture. Microaggressions are everyday verbal and nonverbal slights, snubs, insults, and stereotypes which can either be intentional or unintentional and can negatively erode and impact the psychological safety within a company’s workplace culture. To combat the intensely negative effects on marginalized groups within the organization, people leaders must understand how microaggressions look, sound, and feel as well as strategies to effectively address and support all those impacted.
