Greetings Limitless Leaders:
Something is reassuring, comforting, & beautiful about light. For instance, the light peeps through the tops of my room-darkening drapes at daybreak, and that early light reassures me that I am awake with the gift of life still within me. A gift from God. The sweet nightlight I clicked on each evening in my young daughter’s bedroom. The glow of that muted light set the atmosphere for prayers, quiet chats & giggles at bedtime, & affirmations. That cherished light was comforting to my girls & me. My girls are a gift from God. The beautiful truth about light is proclaimed in John 8:12. Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” This season we’ll celebrate the birth of Jesus, our light, the most beautiful gift from God.
Beloved Limitless Leaders, Jesus is our light. When we accepted His gift of salvation, we became representatives of His light in a dark world. A world that is searching for what it does not know it needs…His light. What is darkness? It is simply the absence of light. The absence of Jesus. Darkness will keep doing what it does until it is dispelled.
Light, on the other hand, is audacious and no respecter of darkness. Light could care less about darkness. Light only knows that in its present, darkness has no choice; it must go. Jesus’ light is limitless.
In our day-to-day comings and goings, at home, at work, and in our communities, Jesus has promised to make us a light to others. We are to shine as gleaming testimonies and radiate His love, mercy, & joy in our lives and those around us.
“In the same way, let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
Can you imagine God’s beautiful planning & timing of His Son’s arrival on Earth? Just picture the bright star in the eastern sky & the glorious angelic host praising His highly anticipated arrival. The heavens were ablaze with awe, excitement, & wonder at the birth of our Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, & Prince of Peace. Talk about a light show!
